NFL Team Facilities To Remain Closed, No Date Set To Reopen Due To Coronavirus Concerns

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The National Football League sent out a memo to their teams to inform them that their facilities are to remain closed.

The NFL did not provide a date for the facilities to reopen due to coronavirus concerns.

“To be clear, club facilities remain closed and no date has been set for the reopening of club facilities,” the memo sent by the NFL said. “Before facilities can reopen, the three criteria identified above must be satisfied. We expect to provide additional guidance later this week regarding when facilities may reopen, the number of people who may return to work, and related matters.”

The criteria that the NFL mentioned in the memo includes:

1. That reopening is consistent with sound medical and public health guidance, as reflected in the protocols.
2. That reopening is permitted under current government regulations.
3. That reopening occurs in a way that respects principles of competitive equity.

Last Thursday, the NFL released their full schedule and still expect to start the season on time as scheduled. The main question that surrounds the league is whether fans will be allowed to attend. The season is scheduled to begin on Thursday, September 10 when the defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs host the Houston Texans at 6:20 p.m. MT on KSL TV.

How Do I Prevent It?

The CDC has some simple recommendations, most of which are the same for preventing other respiratory illnesses or the flu:

• Avoid close contact with people who may be sick
• Avoid touching your face
• Stay home when you are sick
• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and then throw the tissue in the trash
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing. Always wash your hands with soap and water if your hands are visibly dirty.
• If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.

If you see evidence of PRICE GOUGING, the Utah Attorney General’s Office wants you to report it.
