Local Sports Teams, Athletes Encourage Fans To Vote On Election Day

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – It’s Election Day. It’s an emotional day for many Americans, but local athletes and sports teams took the time to remind Utahns how important it is to vote and make your voice heard.
Some notable sports figures even took the time to provide information on how, where and when to vote. Like Utah Athletic Director who informed Utahns that the Huntsman Center, on the University of Utah’s campus, is a polling location.

Utah is one of 21 states and Washington D.C. that allows same-day voter registration, so even if you aren’t registered you can still make your way to a polling location and vote.

The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) is offering free fares on election day to help anyone who needs transportation to a polling location. Another thing to remember about voting in-person at a polling location is that if you are still in line when polls close at 8:00 p.m., you can still cast your vote, so stay in line.

The Utah Jazz reminded their Twitter followers to get out and vote, reminding everyone that Vivint Arena serves as a polling location.
Many other Jazz players used their platform to remind fans how important it is to use your voice and cast a ballot.

The University of Utah Athletics Twitter page again reminded people that the Huntsman Center is a polling location.
