SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz own a 2-0 series lead over the Los Angeles Clippers heading into game three in Los Angeles, largely thanks to the enormous threes they’ve made to open the series.

While both teams were elite shooting the ball this season, it’s been the Jazz that have used the three-ball as their greatest weapon to counter the Clippers’ defensive attack.

Seemingly at every point through the first two games of the series, just when it looks like the Clippers might have a chance to take control of the game, the Jazz have answered with a back-breaking three to end the Clippers run.

With that in mind, here’s a look at the biggest threes the Jazz have hit during the first two games of the series to take a 2-0 lead.

Jazz Back-Breaking Threes In Game One

Jordan Clarkson: Game One – First Quarter

The Jazz had one of the worst starts imaginable in game one, shooting just 5-28 from the floor in the first quarter, and at one point, missing 21 consecutive field goal attempts.

However, at the end of the first quarter, after missing his first six shots of the game, Jordan Clarkson hit a pair of threes in the final 49 seconds, including one with one second left to allow the Jazz to stay within seven points at the end of the first quarter.

Bojan Bogdanovic: Game One – Second Quarter

With the Clippers holding a double-digit lead through most of the first half, the Jazz needed any points they could find.

With under four minutes to play in the first half and the Jazz offense floundering, Bojan Bogdanovic created this play out of nothing stealing an errant Rojan Rondo pass, knocking down the three to keep the Jazz crowd engaged, and trimming the deficit to just nine.

Donovan Mitchell: Game One – Third Quarter

Any one of Donovan Mithell’s three third quarter threes could have made this list, but it was 28-footer midway through the quarter was his biggest shot of the run.

The shot brought the Jazz to within in two, the closest they’d been since trailing 14-12 five minutes into the quarter.

Georges Niang: Game One – Third Quarter

Georges Niang is just 1-8 through two games against the Clippers, but his one make was enormous.

After trailing by as much as 14 in the third quarter, this Niang three gave the Jazz their first lead of the game since they were up 10-7 three minutes into the game.

Bojan Bogdanovic: Game One – Fourth Quarter

The Jazz hit four three-pointers in the fourth quarter of game one, one to take a one-point lead, one to break a tie, and one to extend the lead to six.

But none were bigger than this three from Bogdanovic that extended the Jazz lead to 10 with 5:22 left to play.

After the game Bogdanovic said, “I had Kennard on me and the shot clock was running down so I needed to take that one. It was a big one.” He wasn’t kidding.

Jazz Back-Breaking Threes In Game Two

After shooting 17-50 in game one, the Jazz truly found their stroke in game two, knocking down a staggering 20-39 threes to take a 2-0 lead in the series. These were the biggest shots from game two.

Jordan Clarkson: Game Two – First Quarter

In a taste of things to come, Clarkson let the Clippers know what type of night it was going to be as the Jazz would win game two thanks to some ridiculous shot-making.

This three over Paul George was just the first of a few impossible shots the Jazz hit in hit game.

“He played great defense, he had a contest on the shot,” Clarkson said after the game, “I just made it.”

Donovan Mitchell: Game Two – Second Quarter

The Jazz were leading by four with two minutes left in the first half of game two, but strung together a 12-3 run to close the second quarter and take a commanding 13 point lead into the second half.

This Mitchell three with seven seconds left, after appearing to hurt his right leg late in the quarter, was the dagger.

Joe Ingles: Game Two – Third Quarter

After building an enormous 21 point lead, the Clippers battled back against the Jazz in the third quarter of game two, trimming the lead to as little as four in the quarter.

But as has been the case all series, the Jazz answered, this time with a difficult step-back three from Joe Ingles to push the league back to seven.

Jordan Clarkson: Game Two – Third Quarter

Unquestionably the biggest junk three the Jazz have hit in the series, this is some of the best defense Luke Kennard played all series.

However, Clarkson calmly walked the shot clock down before hitting this three off the glass to again extend the Jazz lead to seven. Kennard’s reaction, and that of the Clippers bench tells you all you need to know.

Bojan Bogdanovic: Game Two – Fourth Quarter

After the Clipper briefly took a two point lead in the fourth quarter, Ingles tied the game with an impossible layup that hit the top of the backboard before dropping in, followed by this huge three from Bogdanovic.

Once again, just when the Clippers seem to have an edge, the Jazz hit a huge three to retake control of the game. As Doris Burke says in the clip, the Jazz had 17 threes at this point in the game, but this one felt “weightier than others.”

Royce O’Neale: Game Two – Fourth Quarter

Most of Royce O’Neale’s brilliant work has been done on the defensive end in this series, but this fourth quarter three was badly needed.

O’Neale sunk this three, his only deep ball of the game in the midst of an 8-0 run by the Jazz to blow the game over in the fourth quarter.

Joe Ingles: Game Two – Fourth Quarter

No shot better encapsulated the Jazz three-point devastation in the series than this one from Ingles.

With the game clock winding down, the Clippers needed a stop, but the Jazz crowd drowned out their defensive communication, allowing Ingles to casually walk into this dagger to end game two.

As DB said, “Somebody might want to check Mr. Ingles.”
