SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah has some former players that have transferred out of the program this past offseason and we are keeping track of their seasons.

Quarterback Jake Bentley went to South Alabama and Jason Shelley is playing for Missouri State. Running back Devin Brumfield is with Tulane, Jordan Wilmore is playing for Fresno State and T.J. Green went to Liberty. Wide receiver Bryan Thompson is in Tempe with Arizona State and Samson Nacua is playing for BYU. Also, offensive lineman Orlando Umana is playing for Ole Miss. On defense, tackle Pita Tonga is playing for Hawai’i.

Here is how those players performed during Week 2 of the season.

Jake Bentley

Bentley completed 29 of his 46 pass attempts for 257 yards and one interception. The Jaguars made a field goal as time expired to beat Bowling Green, 22-19. South Alabama is 2-0 on the season and will host Alcorn State on Saturday, September 18.

Jason Shelley

After a near upset against Oklahoma State, Missouri State bounced back with a 43-34 win over Central Arkansas in their home opener. Shelley had an outstanding performance by completing 18 of his 36 pass attempts for 231 yards and one touchdown. He also ran the ball 15 times for 26 yards and one TD.

The Bears are 1-1 and will host South Dakota on Saturday, September 25.

Devin Brumfield

After losing to Oklahoma by five points in the opener, the Green Wave returned home to battle Morgan State. Brumfield finished with 50 yards on five carries. His longest run was 19 yards.

Tulane is 1-1 on the year and will travel to Ole Miss on Saturday, September 18.

Fresno State bounced back from a loss to Oregon in Week 1 and defeated Cal Poly, 63-10. Jordan Wilmore had five carries for 31 yards and a touchdown. His longest run was 14 yards with his TD run coming in the fourth quarter from 10-yards out.

The Bulldogs improved to 2-1 on the year and will travel to No. 13 UCLA on Saturday, September 18.

T.J. Green

The Flames are off to a 2-0 start after a 21-13 win over Troy last week. T.J. Green ran the ball 10 times for 56 yards in the win. Liberty will host Old Dominion on Saturday, September 18.

Bryan Thompson

Arizona State hasn’t been tested through two weeks this season following a 37-10 win over UNLV. Bryan Thompson had one catch for -4 yards before leaving the game with an injury. ASU will travel to BYU on Saturday, September 18.

Samson Nacua

Nacua had a positive impact on the Cougars in their win over the Utes on Saturday. He caught two passes for 10 yards and a touchdown. BYU will host Arizona State on Saturday, September 18.

Orlando Umana

After making his Ole Miss debut against Louisville, Orlando Umana did not play in the Rebels’ 54-17 win over Austin Peay. He was listed as the backup center on their depth chart going into the game. They will host Tulane on Saturday, September 18.

Pita Tonga

Pita Tonga recorded one pass breakup in Hawai’i’s 45-27 loss to Oregon State last week. The Rainbow Warriors will host San Jose State on Saturday, September 18.
