Rams S Eric Weddle Was Mic’d Up During NFC Championship Game

SALT LAKE CITY – Former Utah Utes All-American and current Los Angeles Rams safety Eric Weddle was mic’d up during the NFC Championship Game.
Eric Weddle has spent over a decade in the NFL and never appeared in a Super Bowl. That changed after the Rams beat the San Francisco 49ers 20-17 in the NFC Championship Game.
What’s crazy about this is that over two weeks ago, Weddle was at home with his family in his second year of retirement. As the Rams suffered injuries at the safety position. Defensive coordinator Raheem Morris decided to call Weddle to see if he was still in shape. The Rams signed him for the rest of the season and tested his conditioning with the former Ute on the practice squad.
Weddle was elevated before their Wildcard game and was able to play in the game. Fast forward to the NFC title game, Weddle led the Rams with nine tackles, including a tackle for loss in the win.
The Rams released a 5:14 video on Monday evening that featured Weddle mic’d up.

Eric Weddle Mic’d Up For NFC Championship Game
Weddle showed his true personality in pregame warmups all the way until the final whistle. He was running up and down the field motivating his teammates and coaches.
“Great day to be great,” was a phrase that was mentioned frequently by Weddle. He also had a moment where he walked up to wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
“Hey, this is why you’re here,” Weddle told Beckham Jr. “Big moments, right? Big time players. No one’s better.”
The video also showed Weddle in the tunnel before he was introduced to the Rams faithful at SoFi Stadium. Then they got to the game action. All that you could hear on the mic was Weddle making tackles and the effort that was put into each one.

The Rams will battle the Cincinnati Bengals in the Super Bowl at SoFi Stadium on Sunday, February 13. Kickoff is at 4:30 p.m. MT on KSL 5 TV.
