SALT LAKE CITY – Former Oregon Duck Haloti Ngata and former Utah football head coach Urban Meyer have been elected to the College Football Hall of Fame.

The 2025 College Football HOF class was announced on Wednesday, January 15. The 22-person class will officially be inducted during the 67th NFF Annual Awards Dinner Presented by Las Vegas on December 9, 2025, at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

After being hired in December 2002, Meyer turned Utah into a college football hotbed. Meyer’s teams went 22-2 in two seasons, busting the BCS in 2004. That 2004 team finished 12-0, capping the season with a Sugar Bowl blowout win over Alabama.

Meyer joins former Ute head coach Ike Armstrong and 2024 inductee Alex Smith. Smith became the NFL’s No. 1 overall pick after growing into a star while playing under Meyer in 2003 and 2004.

After leaving the U of U, Meyer went on to win two national titles with the Florida Gators and a third with Ohio State. He is 187-32 as a college head coach and went 12-3 in bowl games, the second-highest win percentage in FBS history

The Ravens selected Ngata with the 12th overall selection in 2006.

Ngata played 13 seasons, registering 517 tackles, 91 QB hits, and 32.5 sacks.
