Svi Mykhailiuk Sends Jordan Hawkins Packing With Highlight Block

NEW ORLEANS – Svi Mykhailiuk is known for his shooting but he can get up for a highlight every now and then.
Pelicans guard Jordan Hawkins learned that the hard way as he looked for a breakaway slam.

The Jazz got out to a blazing hot start in Smoothie King Center.
After starting the game with a 14-0 run, they kept up the pace and shot over 65 percent from the floor in the opening quarter.
New Orleans started to turn it up a bit in the second. At least until Mykhailiuk sucked all of the air out of the building.

In the first half, Mykhailiuk posted eight points, two rebounds, and a block on 50 percent from the floor.
As a team, the Jazz shot 52 percent through the first two quarters and led 69-49 going into the break.
West’s Worst Rematch Following Pelicans Win
The bottom two seeds in the Western Conference will face off for a second straight game at Smoothie King Center on Monday.
New Orleans came away with a convincing 136-123 victory which saw them outrebound the Jazz by 16 and shoot nearly 10 percent better from three.
Although these are the worst two teams in the West, their recent stretch of games couldn’t look more different. The Pelicans had a slow start to the season as they couldn’t escape the injury bug. But, they have enjoyed better health as of late and won four of their last five games. The only loss coming to the widely-considered championship-favorite Boston Celtics.
Meanwhile, the Jazz are far from seeing any type of midseason jump. They have lost five of their last six and slid down to 28th overall in the NBA.
