Jordan Love Talks Injuries, Packers Offense With Kay Adams

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana- All week, players, coaches, and celebrities alike have been making the rounds at the Super Bowl’s “Radio Row,” appearing on local and national programs to talk about the big game and their offseason plans.
Former Utah State Aggie Jordan Love was in New Orleans to take in the festivities, even joining NFL personality Kay Adams on her show Up & Adams to talk about his second year as the starter for the Green Bay Packers and what he would like to see from the team going into next season.

Jordan has led the Packers to the playoffs in each of his first two seasons as a starter, something neither Aaron Rodgers nor Brett Favre was ever able to do, but that doesn’t mean that the season wasn’t filled with adversity for Love.
“Me battling through injury,” Love admitted when asked about the biggest difference between this season and the last, “Fighting through, getting my mind right for the game, and trying to fight through some pain… It was an inconsistent year, so there was a lot more adversity throughout the course of the season… rocky season that I learned a lot of lessons on.”

Additionally, Love was asked about his offensive weapons specifically the wide receiving core, and if he would like to see any additions before the start of next season.
“When you add good players to a good team, I think good things will happen,” Jordan said, giving credit to some of last year’s additions, “We went out and got Josh Jacobs this offseason, phenomenal playmaker for us… Xavier McKinney on the back end on defense, took the defense to a whole other level.”
Jordan Love gave a lot of credit to his wide receivers, a group that operated by committee all year without a bonified WR1, and doubled down on his trust.
“I love that group, they do some phenomenal things, and if we add a guy, we add a guy. If we don’t, we don’t,” Jordan said.

But, when he was presented with the prospect of Davante Adams, Love smirked and said, “I’m not mad about it.”
“Davante, that’s my guy. Obviously I was with him for a good amount of time up in Green Bay my first couple seasons,” Love reminisced about his time with the wide receiver, “When I was with him, he might have dropped three passes in the years that I saw him. He’s just a phenomenal receiver, creates so much separation off the line. That’s his game, you know, killing guys off the line, and making crazy catches, and making big-time plays.”

While a reconnection between Jordan Love and Davante Adams would certainly be electric, Jordan Love will look to make it three straight playoff appearances, regardless of who he’s throwing to.
About Jordan Love
Before his time in the league, the Bakersfield, California native played at USU from 2016-19. During his time with the Aggies, Love threw for 8,600 yards, 60 touchdowns, and 29 interceptions with a completion rate of 61 percent.
In 2020, the Packers traded up to select Love with the No. 26 overall pick in the NFL Draft.
During his rookie campaign, the former USU standout was inactive for each of Green Bay’s games.
Love saw limited action in his second and third seasons with the Packers and continued to serve as the backup to four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers. Following the 2022 season, the Packers traded Rodgers to the New York Jets. The Rodgers trade paved the way for Love to be Green Bay’s QB1 in 2023.

In his first three seasons, Love threw for 606 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions with a 60.2 percent completion rate in 10 games played.
In 2023, Love threw for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He also ran for 247 yards and four touchdowns, leading the Packers to a 9-8 record in the regular season.
In two playoff games, the former USU signal-caller threw for 466 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions.
