SALT LAKE CITYSpring ball is just around the corner for Kyle Whittingham and Utah football, as the program announced key dates for fans to prepare.

The Utes will open spring camp on Thursday, March 20, and the 22 Forever Game will cap spring practices on Saturday, April 19.

Utah has already gotten back to work in its offseason regimen. Whittingham and his staff will lead players through 15 practices over five weeks. Utah will split its time between the Spence and Cleone Eccles Football Center and Rice-Eccles Stadium.

The program has many new faces, and many will be counted on to make an impact next season. Utah signed over 40 new players in their 2025 class and has already welcomed 29 of them to campus. These five weeks will provide the staff the opportunity to integrate all those newcomers into the culture of Utah football.

Unfortunately for fans hoping to see the team beyond the 22 Forever Game, Utah’s spring practices will be closed to the public.

The 22 Forever Game

Utah’s annual spring game on April 19 in Rice-Eccles Stadium will once again benefit the 22 Forever Memorial Scholarship, which honors the memories of Ty Jordan and Aaron Lowe.

Each season, the scholarship is represented by a student-athlete in the football program who exemplifies the inspiring qualities that Ty and Aaron demonstrated.

Tickets are available for purchase, and all proceeds go to the 22 Forever Memorial Scholarship.

Utah Coach’s Clinic

Another key event during spring is the program’s Coach’s Clinic, which will be held on March 22 this year.

Attending coaches will be able to attend coaches meetings and receive personal instruction from the Utah football coaching staff, strength and conditioning staff, nutrition staff, recruiting, and player personnel staff. They will also have the opportunity to network with other coaches during break-out “chalk-talk” sessions.

Coaches will also have the opportunity to observe that day’s spring ball practice directly from the sidelines to observe individual drills, 7-on-7, and team scrimmage.

To finish the day, Utah will have a keynote speaker, which has yet to be determined.

Utah’s Spring Captains and Leadership Council

Captains Spencer Fano and Jaren Kump will lead the Utes’ offense, while Lander Barton and Logan Fano will lead the defensive side of the ball.

Beyond the captains, Utah’s leadership council includes several intriguing players: Smith Snowden, Levani Damuni, Tao Johnson, Landen King, Aliki Vimahi, Michael Mokofisi, Devon Dampier, Nate Ritchie, and Caleb Lomu.

With so many new faces on the roster, Utah’s leadership is mostly comprised of players returning from this past season. Dampier is the only newcomer to be included in Utah football’s leadership.
