Carsen Ryan Makes Acrobatic Catch For His First BYU TD

PROVO, Utah – Former Utah and UCLA tight end Carsen Ryan figures to be a difference maker in the BYU offense after scoring his first touchdown in Cougar blue. Ryan’s TD grab gave the Cougars a 42-0 first half lead over Portland State.
The BYU Cougars began the 2025 season by hosting the Portland State Vikings at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Saturday, August 30.

With the Cougar offense rolling, Bear Bachmeier led his team into the red zone with pinpoint passing and excellent decision-making.
After gaining 69 yards on the first two plays of the drive, Bachmeier hit Carson Ryan in the end zone for his fourth total touchdown.
It was the second big play of the drive for the duo. Two plays earlier, Ryan reeled in a 25-yard catch and run to set the tone. LJ Martin added a 44-yard run, his second 40+ yard carry of the night.
BYU heads into halftime with a 42-0 lead.
