LOGAN, Utah – Utah State kicker Tanner Rinker earned Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Week honors after helping the Aggies to a 28-16 win over the UTEP Miners.
Rinker made two field goals against UTEP, including a career-long 49-yard boot for the season’s first points. He finished the day unblemished, also nailing two extra-point attempts.

About Tanner Rinker
Rinker played his prep football at Douglas County High School in Castle Rock, Colorado. He finished his high school career 7-of-11 (.636) on field goal attempts and had a career-long of 54 yards.
A two-sport star, Rinker earned all-conference recognition as a junior and senior on the soccer pitch.

Rinker attended Grambling State as a freshman. He went 7-of-13 (.538) on field goals and 29-of-31 on extra points in 11 games with the Tigers.
Rinker transferred to Garden City Community College for his sophomore season.
The 6’2, 190-pound kicker earned first-team All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference honors after making 10-of-13 (.769) field goals and 46 extra points. Rinker kicked a season-long 51-yard field goal in a game against Dodge City CC.
