NEW ORLEANS – Former Utah wide receiver Devaughn Vele grabbed his first touchdown as a member of the New Orleans Saints against the San Francisco 49ers in week two.
Vele was traded from Denver before the start of this season.

Vele has been slowly implemented into the offense, which makes sense as a second-year player with a new franchise.
In week one, he was targeted twice and had one catch for 13 yards. His touchdown against the 49ers was his only target and only catch of the game.
As the season goes on and Vele gets more comfortable in his new threads, expect his production to look more like it did in year one.
About Devaughn Vele
Before his time at the University of Utah, the San Diego, California native was a standout player at Rancho Bernardo High School.
After high school, Vele joined the Utes ahead of the 2019 season.
He went on to play five seasons at Utah. During his time in Salt Lake City, Vele recorded 123 receptions for 1,689 yards and nine touchdowns in 47 games played. Eight of Vele’s touchdowns came in his final two seasons at Utah.

The wideout helped the Utes win consecutive Pac-12 Conference championships in 2021 and 2022.
Vele declared for the 2024 NFL Draft in December 2023.
After being selected in the seventh round by the Denver Broncos, Vele had a productive rookie season with 475 yards and three touchdowns. Before his second year, Denver traded him to New Orleans.
