Noteworthy Locals In The NFL Week 5 Matchups
Saints vs. Giants – Sunday, October 5 at 11:00 a.m.
Former Roy & Corner Canyon quarterback Jaxson Dart sent waves through the NFL world in his first start, leading the Giants to their first win of the season.
For his second start, he will face the New Orleans Saints, who have had their fair share of struggles so far this season. New Orleans has two local receivers, Weber State’s Rashid Shaheed and Utah’s Devaughn Vele.
It should be an interesting matchup, and Dart has all of the tools to continue to stay in the limelight.
Bills vs. Patriots – Sunday, October 5 at 6:20 p.m.
The Buffalo Bills look to remain undefeated as they take on the New England Patriots this weekend.
Buffalo is tied for the team with the most local players; they have former Highland High tight end Jackson Hawes, former Utah tight end Dalton Kincaid, former Utah safety Cole Bishop, and former Weber State cornerback Taron Johnson.
The Patriots have one local on the roster, former BYU defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga.
Jaguars vs. Chiefs – Monday, October 6 at 6:15 p.m.
The second prime time game on our list comes after the weekend as the Jaguars host the Chiefs.
Former Utah linebacker Devin Lloyd comes off a career week with two interceptions and could break his career high for picks in a season against Patrick Mahomes. The Jags also have former Utah wide receiver Tim Patrick.
Alongside BYU alum Andy Reid, Kansas City has former BYU offensive lineman Kingsley Suamataia, former Utah State wide receiver Jalen Royals, and Kearns High standout linebacker Jeffrey Bassa.

Week Five’s Top Game To Tune In To For Locals
Rams vs. 49ers – Thursday, October 2 at 6:15 p.m.
New record here: three primetime games in our top matchups of the week.
Although there is just one local on each team, it can’t get much better. Two former BYU Cougars. Linebacker Fred Warner and wide receiver Puka Nacua.
Through four weeks, Nacua is rated as the No. 1 wide receiver and Wanrer is rated the No. 1 defensive player in the NFL. It should be a great one.
