Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers Get Back On Track Against Bengals

GREEN BAY, Wisc. — Former Utah State quarterback Jordan Love helped the Green Bay Packers get rid of the bad taste in their mouth from two weeks ago with a win over the Cincinnati Bengals in week six.
Love completed 19 of his 26 pass attempts for 259 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.

Last week, Green Bay had a bye week. Before that, they had to settle for a 40-40 tie against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.
But there was no settling on Sunday.
The Packers held Cincinnati scoreless in the first half. They dropped 10 in the second quarter and would take that lead into the break.
The first touchdown of the game came from Josh Jacobs from three yards out. That score bookended an 8-play, 80-yard drive where Love completed three of five passes for 70 yards.

Cincinnati started to put it together after halftime.
With a third-quarter Joe Flacco passing touchdown, the score sat at 10-7 heading into the fourth quarter.
You can’t ever play with your food in the NFL, so Green Bay quickly got back to work. The ensuing drive ended in Jacob’s second rushing touchdown to put the Packers back up by two scores.

From there, it turned into a game of cat and mouse.
Cincinnati pulled it back down to one score with a field goal, and then Green Bay extended once again with a TD.
That score was Love’s first and only passing touchdown of the game. He found Tucker Kraft, who rumbled down the right sideline and extended across the goal line for six.

The Bengals finally found star receiver Ja’Marr Chase for a touchdown on the next drive. They then went for two to drop the lead to six.
A Green Bay field goal with 1:52 left on the clock would ultimately put the game out of reach.
The win put the Packers in second place in the NFC East.
About Jordan Love
Before his time in the league, the Bakersfield, California native played at USU from 2016 to 2019. During his time with the Aggies, Love threw for 8,600 yards, 60 touchdowns, and 29 interceptions with a completion rate of 61 percent.
In 2020, the Packers traded up to select Love with the No. 26 overall pick in the NFL Draft.
During his rookie campaign, the former USU standout was inactive for each of Green Bay’s games.
Love saw limited action in his second and third seasons with the Packers and continued to serve as the backup to four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers. Following the 2022 season, the Packers traded Rodgers to the New York Jets. The Rodgers trade paved the way for Love to be Green Bay’s QB1 in 2023.

In his first two seasons, Love threw for 606 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions with a 60.2 percent completion rate in 10 games played.
In 2023, Love threw for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He also ran for 247 yards and four touchdowns, leading the Packers to a 9-8 record in the regular season.
In two playoff games, the former USU signal-caller threw for 466 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions.
Love was injured early in 2024, but came back and led the Packers to another Wild Card berth with 3,389 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Green Bay was knocked out in the first game of the postseason by the eventual champion Philadelphia Eagles.
