Where Does BYU Football’s 2026 Recruiting Class Stand?

PROVO, Utah – The recruiting efforts for BYU football in the class of 2026 put the Cougars among the best in college football
Now, BYU is preparing to sign that heralded recruiting class.
The early signing period kicks off today, December 3, and runs until Friday, December 5.
BYU enters Signing Day with momentum after head coach Kalani Sitake signed a long-term contract extension after interest from the Penn State Nittany Lions.
Sitake will welcome to his BYU family a talented group of recruits, headlined by four-star quarterback Ryder Lyons from California.
Lyons committed to BYU last June, choosing the Cougars over Oregon, USC, and Michigan.
Along with Lyons, BYU has six four-star commits. Those prospects include Lone Peak offensive tackle Bott Mulitalo, who flipped from Oregon to BYU in this cycle.
Pine View High star Brock Harris is one of the nation’s top tight ends. Harris picked BYU over Michigan.
Olympus High linebacker Adam Bywater, the younger brother of former BYU linebacker Ben Bywater, is a top-200 prospect. The four-star recruits round out with Ty Goettsche from Colorado powerhouse Cherry Creek High, and Orem High defensive lineman Lopeti “Juni” Moala, one of the big risers in recruiting rankings during his senior year with the Tigers.
Another notable commitment in BYU’s 2026 class includes interior offensive lineman Jax Tanner from Rocky Mountain High School in Idaho. Tanner picked BYU over the likes of Oregon and Tennessee.
BYU Football Recruiting: 2026 Commits
BYU enters National Signing Day with 19 commitments and the 20th-ranked class in the 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Class rankings for the class of 2026. The class ranks second in the Big 12.
It’s the highest-ranked recruiting class in the Kalani Sitake era (since 2016).
