Tony Finau Drains Hole In One In Farmers Insurance Open First Round

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Utah native and PGA Tour golfer Tony Finau ended strong in the first round of the Farmers Insurance Open, thanks to a hole-in-one on 16.
The ace was the first of the season on the PGA Tour.

Finau finished at even par, with his final three holes boosting his result beyond what his start suggested.
He followed the hole-out with a birdie on the hole 17 par-4. Finau had struggled on par fours prior to that, recording a bogey on five of the eight.
His round ended with a par on 18 to leave him at E for the round. That placed him at tied for 87th heading into round two.
Justin Rose led the field with a -10 on day one.

Finau has four hole-in-ones in his career.
His last came in April of 2025 at the Valero Texas Open, where he also found the cup on hole 16 to dramatically make it inside of the cut line.

About Tony Finau
The Salt Lake City native has played professionally since 2007.
The Farmers Insurance Open was Finau’s 3rd competition of 2026.
The 2025 season saw its fair share of ups and downs for Finau. He made 15/20 cuts, finished in one top five, and took home over $2.5 million on the tour.
Finau has nine professional victories, including six on the PGA Tour. Finau won four events from 2022 to 2023.
