Dirty Sodas identity adds to Salt Lake Bees ‘phenomenal baseball experience’

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah – Major League Baseball is eyeing the Beehive State for possible expansion, and the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees are capitalizing on the increased fan fervor created by Big League Utah.
Now in year two in South Jordan, The Ballpark at America First Square is quickly becoming a feature of the fast-growing community west of Salt Lake.

“If people haven’t had a chance to visit it (The Ballpark) in downtown Daybreak, you’ll have a phenomenal baseball experience,” Larry H. Miller Sports+Entertainment CEO Steve Starks said in an exclusive interview with KSL Sports Zone radio host Scott Garrard.
Earlier this spring, USA Today readers voted The Ballpark the third-best minor league baseball venue in the nation, and it’s only getting better.

When The Ballpark opened its doors to fans for the first time in April 2025, it was the beginning of a long-term vision for the area. What the park lacked in surrounding amenities, it more than made up for with classic design.
Massive concourses flanked by red brick that harken back to baseball’s earlier age. A large video board that blends better than it stands out against the classic green featured ballpark-wide. And enough food options, both traditional and elevated, to satisfy even the pickiest eaters.

Fears of a diminished view of the Wastach Front mountains have been washed away with gorgeous southeast-facing sitelines beyond the outfield walls. To the west, the unique Kennecott Copper mines are bathed in breathtaking sunsets every night.
Theme nights, postgame fireworks shows, and more make The Ballpark an easy date night or evening out for the family.

With a movie theater, concert venue, and additional restaurants nearby (hello, Red Iguana), America First Square buzzes with excitement on game nights and beyond.
“I think that’s been an evolution with sports, is that you can use these venues to anchor mixed-use development,” Starks said of the project’s vision. “People want to live close to it. They want to go shop, have restaurant experiences. Businesses want to be close to it. And so that’s what’s happening in downtown Daybreak.
Dirty Sodas alternate identity becomes an immediate fan favorite
Minor league baseball offers a less rigid environment than MLB, and the franchise is leaning into that freedom.
In a nod to a local drink favorite, the Salt Lake Bees become the Dirty Sodas at home every Wednesday night.

ESPN quickly gave its stamp of approval by naming the ‘Dirty Sodas’ its MiLB Promotion of the Week.
“It’s really fun, and it’s also bringing a different demographic to the ballpark every Wednesday night,” Starks said.

He continued, “If I told you the sales numbers, you would be amazed. Not only in Utah, but nationally. It’s uniquely Utah, and that’s something you can only do in Minor League Baseball.”
