BYU football offers 2028 Hawaii quarterback Hunter Fujikawa

PROVO, Utah – BYU football jumped in the mix for a heralded quarterback recruit in the class of 2028.

Hunter Fujikawa from Honolulu, Hawaii, announced an offer from BYU.

Fujikawa is a four-star prospect in the class of 2028. Arizona, Arizona State, Alabama, Ohio State, Utah, UCF, and other power conference programs have also extended offers to the rising signal-caller in the 2028 cycle.

“Thank you Jesus!! I am so blessed to receive an offer from Brigham Young University,” wrote Fujikawa on X.

He tagged BYU football head coach Kalani Sitake, offensive coordinator Aaron Roderick, and outside linebackers coach Chad Kauha’aha’a.

Coach Kauha’aha’a was in Hawaii this past weekend on the island of Kauai for a BYU football fireside featuring first-year BYU defensive coordinator Kelly Poppinga as a speaker.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound signal-caller lands an offer from BYU days after competing in the Elite 11 Oakland regional. Fujikawa’s recruitment has taken off during the spring.

Last season, at Punahou High School, Fujikawa passed for 1,677 yards, 15 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He had five games where he passed for more than 200 yards, including a 274-yard performance through the air in the regular season finale against Saint Louis.

Fujikawa is entering his junior season with Mililani High School, where he’s rated as the 317th prospect nationally in the 247Sports Composite rankings and the 23rd quarterback in the country for the class of 2028.
