Utah Jazz unveil four-game 2026-27 preseason schedule

SALT LAKE CITY — With the NBA regular season schedule release around the corner, the Utah Jazz released the team’s preseason schedule on Wednesday.

The Jazz will play two home games and two road games, starting on October 4 and closing on October 16.

Full Utah Jazz Preseason Schedule

• @ Denver Nuggets on Sunday, October 4 at 5:00 p.m. (MT)
• vs. Denver Nuggets on Tuesday, October 6 at 7:00 p.m. (MT)
• vs. San Antonio Spurs on Monday, October 12 at 7:00 p.m. (MT)
• @ Phoenix Suns on Friday, October 16 at 8:00 p.m. (MT)

The first game against the Nuggets will be played in Boulder, Colorado, instead of at Ball Arena in Denver.

Utah Jazz Begin Ramp-Up To Regular Season With Four-Game Preseason Slate

Delta Center Welcome & Interesting Dates

The first home game on October 6 will be the first NBA contest in Delta Center since before the arena renovations on the north end of the upper bowl.

Last year, the Jazz opened preseason on October 8. Four days later than this season but still closed up shop on October 16.

There was no more than two days between any of the four matchups. This year, there is a sizeable gap of five days between the second and third games. Both are home games, so travel is not the reason.

The Spurs and Suns games have been set for a while now, so it’s possible that Utah had to work around the Nuggets’ schedule.

Preseason Opponents

Barring injuries and other circumstances, there are many notable players the Jazz will see in the lead-up to the regular season.

Victor Wembanyama, Devin Booker, and Nikola Jokic are some of the stars Utah will be tasked with stopping.

There will also be many faces in new places that the Jazz will get some of the first looks at, including Tobias Harris, Miles Bridges, Luke Kennard, and Marvin Bagley.

New Look Jazz Ready To Turn Heads In 2026-27

The actual offseason hasn’t changed much for Utah. Most notably, the departure of Walker Kessler via sign-and-trade and some smaller free agency acquisitions.

Still, the Jaren Jackson Jr. trade and a full summer of health have served as the keystone for the next era of mountain basketball. Not to mention, the addition of No. 2 pick Darryn Peterson.

The front office has made it clear that the goal is to compete for the postseason this season after a long four-year rebuild.

With the additions of Jackson Jr. and Peterson, a third-year jump from Keyonte George, the promise of Ace Bailey, and consistent All-Star-level production from Lauri Markkanen, the smoke has started to clear around the future of the franchise.

Dealing Kessler will make the transition a bit tougher, but a playoff berth is absolutely on the table for this Jazz team.

The NBA’s opening night comes four days after Utah’s final preseason game.
