Highland’s Two Quick Touchdowns Lead To Win Over Pine View

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Highland Rams took advantage of two early turnovers from the Pine View Panthers that carried momentum into a 52-35 win at home in KSL’s Game Night Live Game of the Week.
Osumane Doumbia led the Rams with two rushing touchdowns, racking up five scores on the ground. Pine View quarterback Macloud Crowton, the son of former BYU head coach and current Pine View offensive coordinator Gary Crowton, threw for five touchdowns in the loss.
It was a rough start for Pine View with a fumble on first drive, Highland ran in for a touchdown on their first play.
On Pine View’s second drive, Crowton threw an interception to Paul Clark for a 41-yard touchdown.
Running back Doumbia ran in for another touchdown to give the Rams a 20-0 lead.

The Panthers finally scored their first touchdown late in the opening quarter as Crowton connected with wide receiver Daylor Rymer and trimmed Highland’s lead to 20-7.
Highland countered with a rushing touchdown from Joe Johnson, stretching their lead to 26-7 with 12 minutes left in the second quarter.
Pine View started to get into a rhythm that led to a touchdown pass from Crowton to Michael Moore on a fade pass.
On the next drive for Highland, they ran down the field and capped the drive with a touchdown run for Doumbia, his second of the game.
Highland’s Ben Boren scored a 41-yard rushing touchdown before halftime and the Rams held a 42-21 lead at the break.
The third quarter was controlled by the defense early with each team punting the ball for the first time. Highland found the end zone first with a touchdown run by Nephi Hosea to give the Rams a 50-21 advantage.
The Panthers answered with a touchdown pass from Crowton to Rymer for the second time in the game, but the Rams led 50-27 with 3:29 left in the third quarter. Pine View had an opportunity to trim the lead after forcing a Highland fumble, but they were pinned at their own goal line before punting.
Pine View eased the blow with a touchdown by Izaiah Moten late in the fourth quarter. Highland’s lead was cut to 50-35.
With 10 seconds left, Highland sacked the quarterback in their end zone for a safety.
