SALT LAKE CITY — The Taylorsville Warriors came out on top against the Hillcrest Huskies in week nine of 5A high school football on Friday.

After a 7-7 third quarter, Taylorsville made up for the second-quarter gap with a 14-7 fourth quarter. At the end of regulation, the score was tied at 28-28.

In overtime, Khi Spight punched in a touchdown from three yards out to give the Warriors a 35-28 win at home.

Cyprus Pirates 14 @ Hunter Wolverines 18

Olympus Titans 7 @ No. 19 Woods Cross Wildcats 40 (Thurs.)

It was all Woods Cross at home on Senior Night. Viliami Tapa’atoutai ran in two touchdowns in the first half. Shayden Gerratt ran in an 86-yard score and Ryan Miller had a 22-yard TD on the ground to give the Wildcats a 26-0 lead at the break. Logan Duncan ran in a 16-yard touchdown in the second quarter before the Wasps made another field goal to take a 13-0 lead at the halftime break. Maple Mountain was only able to get a touchdown pass from Cole Allred to Kyren Jones late in the third quarter as the Golden Eagles’ comeback attempt fell short.
