Tony Finau Voted ‘Nicest Player On PGA Tour’

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah’s Tony Finau has been voted as the “nicest player on tour,” according to a recent Golf Digest report which was voted on by PGA Tour players, caddies, media members, and volunteers.

“Well-known for his ever-present smile and being generous with his time. Says Finau, “If I have a conversation with a person, and I leave thinking I’ve brightened their day just a little bit somehow, that makes me happy.” Finau joins past winners of the Golf Digest Tour Nice Guys Ranking; Steve Stricker (2013), Jordan Spieth (2017) and Rickie Fowler (2019),” the article reads.

Finau was voted as the eighth nicest player in 2019 when Golf Digest last conducted a vote.
Other notable golfers on the list include Jordan Spieth (3), Rory Mcllroy (4), Rickie Fowler (5), Collin Morikawa (8), Viktor Hovland (9), and current world number 1 Scottie Scheffler (21).
Recent PGA Tour Success
Ironically, Finau has found great success as of late. The nicest player on tour collected consecutive victories at the 3M Open and the Rocket Mortgage Classic and is now in a prime position to contend for the illustrious Tour Championship which holds a winning check of $20 million.

The back-to-back wins mark the third and fourth wins on the PGA Tour for Finau. He first won in 2016 at the Puerto Rico Open before waiting five years for his second win which came in 2021 at the Northern Trust.
The 2021/22 PGA Tour season was the first year in which Finau has won multiple tournaments in a calendar year.
Finau was recently in Utah on Monday as he held a clinic at Oakridge Country Club prior to the Utah Championship which is taking place now. Finau is not in the field for this week’s Wyndham Championship and will instead further prepare for the start of the FedEx Cup playoffs starting next week.
