SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Tony Finau has withdrawn from the upcoming Dunhill Links Championship, sighting a “persisting health issue” as the reason for his decision.

It is now known what the persisting health injury is, however, Finau was sure to confirm that he does not have Covid-19.

Every September, the Dunhill Links Championship is played across three links-style golf courses at the home of golf, Scotland, and is regarded as one of the “richest” tournaments on the European Tour.

In 2019, the last time Finau competed at the Dunhill Links Championship, he concluded his four rounds in a T10 with a final score of 18-under-par.

Finau’s decision to bypass the tournament comes following a historic Ryder Cup victory for the United States. Finau contributed to the record-setting 19 to 9 win over the European side led by world number one Jon Rahm.

Finau’s 2021 Ryder Cup campaign consisted of one win and two losses. The only win of the week came during the first day of the competition when he and Harris English beat Shane Lowry and Rory Mcllroy during an afternoon that gave the USA a healthy lead entering the second day.
