Strong Second Quarter By Lillard Puts Portland Ahead At Halftime

OAKLAND, Calif. – After going scoreless in the first quarter, Damian Lillard scored 10 points in the second to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to a 65-50 halftime lead over the Golden State Warriors in Game 2.
In the opening period of the second game of the Western Conference Finals, Lillard played all 12 minutes, but failed to register a single point, going 0-for-3 from the floor. He did have four assists in the period, which helped Portland take a 31-29 advantage after the first quarter.
Lillard was much more impactful in the second quarter as he went a perfect 3-for-3 from the floor, all 3-pointers, to score 10 points.

His teammate, CJ McCollum had a team-high 16 points at halftime while the Warriors’ Stephen Curry led all scorers with 19 points.
Drafted out of Weber State by Portland in 2012, the four-time NBA All-Star has been having a career-best playoff run in 2019. In leading the Trail Blazers to their first conference championship series, Lillard is averaging 27.7 points per game during the postseason.
The Trail Blazers came into the game on Thursday trailing in the series 1-0.
