Former BYU Tailback Signs Deal With Green Bay Packers

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin – Former BYU Cougar running back Chris Brooks is staying in Green Bay after signing a $4.85 million deal with the Packers.
The two-year deal was announced on Wednesday, March 4.

The 26-year-old picked up 106 yards and five first downs on 27 carries in 2025. He added 13 catches for 91 yards.
Brooks accounted for 27 yards in Green Bay’s 31-27 Wild Card round loss to the rival Chicago Bears.
About Chris Brooks
Brooks was a standout player at El Camino High School, earning a scholarship with the Cal Bears. The Oceanside, California, native played for the Golden Bears from 2018 through 2021.
Brooks rushed the ball 116 times for 607 yards and four touchdowns in his final season with Cal.
He finished his Bears career with 382 carries for 1,734 yards and 14 touchdowns. Brooks added 50 receptions for 345 yards and seven touchdowns out of the backfield while averaging 4.5 yards per carry in 41 games for Cal.

The 6’1″, 219-pound running back transferred to BYU after the 2021 campaign and served as an alternate captain in his lone season with the Cougars.
Brooks was a standout in Cougar blue and white, contributing 817 yards and six touchdowns on 130 rushes. He also hauled in 10 catches for 98 yards.
His 19 carries for 88 yards and a touchdown helped lead BYU to a 24-23 win over SMU in the 2022 New Mexico Bowl.
Brooks appeared in 11 games for the Cougars, including eight starts. He averaged 6.3 yards per carry as a member of BYU’s football program.

Brooks began his NFL career as an undrafted free agent with the Miami Dolphins in 2023.
He rushed 19 times for 106 yards in nine games with Miami before signing in Green Bay ahead of the 2024 season.
Brooks touched the football 47 times (11 receptions, 69 yards) in 2024, accounting for 152 total yards and one score.
His only NFL touchdown came on Monday Night Football two days before Christmas in 2024.
