Dallas Cowboys Waive Former Utes DE Bradlee Anae

SALT LAKE CITY – The Dallas Cowboys announced on Tuesday that they have waived defensive end and former Utah Utes standout Bradlee Anae.
Bradlee Anae was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the fifth round with the 179th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. During his rookie season in 2020, Anae appeared in seven games and didn’t record any tackles.
This season, the Utah sack leader played in four games, while recording two tackles.

In the four games played this year, Anae played 50 snaps on defense and 50 snaps on special teams for the Cowboys. According to the Cowboys’ website, Anae drew a costly offside penalty in the second quarter of their Sunday Night Football game against the Minnesota Vikings. It was a fourth and five play where the Vikings were punting when Anae jumped early.
It’s possible for the Cowboys to bring Anae back to the organization on their practice squad but he would need to clear waivers first.
