Two Locals Win Super Bowl Ring With Seattle Seahawks

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Two NFL players with ties to the state of Utah completed the ultimate goal on Sunday, winning a Super Bowl.
Former Utah linebacker Connor O’Toole and former Weber State wide receiver Rashid Shaheed both contributed to Seattle’s 29-13 win over New England in Super Bowl LX.

In the big game, Shaheed caught two passes for 27 yards and also returned three total kicks and punts for 36 yards. O’Toole didn’t get in the stat sheet, but left an impact on special teams.
Shaheed, O’Toole Make History In First Year With Seahawks
Shaheed spent the first four years of his career with the New Orleans Saints. Before the trade deadline this season, Seattle sent a fourth and fifth-round pick to the Saints to bring in the former Wildcat.
Since making his way to the Pacific Northwest, Shaheed has totaled 16 receptions for 188 yards. Most of his work has come on special teams, where he has punched in three return touchdowns, one coming in the Divisional round against the 49ers.
O’Toole went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft, but was quickly scooped up by the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent. He proved his worth in the offseason and made the 53-man roster prior to week one.
The former Ute played defensive snaps in eight games and posted five total tackles (three solo) and one fumble recovery.
