SALT LAKE CITY – The fifth week of the 2025 NFL season is just about in the books with only Monday Night Football remaining. Players with local ties made their mark all over the league in week five.
Every local NFL player who recorded a stat, with the top performances highlighted, or helped their team pick up a win can be found in our weekly roundup.
Week 6 of the 2024 NFL season begins on October 9 as the Giants host the Eagles on Thursday Night Football.

NFL Locals’ Week 5: Top Performances, All Stats, And More
Top Local NFL Performances
- On Thursday Night Football, former BYU WR Puka Nacua had 10 receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown in an overtime loss to the 49ers.
- In the same game, former BYU LB Fred Warner had his season-high in tackles with 12 total (seven solo).
- Former Weber State WR Rashid Shaheed caught four passes for 114 yards and a touchdown in the Saints’ first win of the season.
- Former Utah State LB Bobby Wagner finished with an impressive 14 total tackles (eight solo) and a quarterback hit.
- Former Utah TE Dalton Kincaid broke triple digits receiving for the first time on Sunday Night Football. He had six catches for 108 yards against the Patriots.
- On Monday Night Football, former Utah LB Devin Lloyd had two solo tackles, a QB hit, and a 99-yard interception return for a touchdown.

- Former Utah LB Mohamoud Diabate had one tackle in Cleveland’s loss to Minnesota in London.
- Former Roy and Corner Canyon QB Jaxson Dart completed 26 of his 40 pass attempts for 202 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in New York’s loss to New Orleans.
- Former Utah WR Devaughn Vele caught two passes for 13 yards in week five.
- Former BYU QB Taysom Hill made his season debut in week five. He threw one pass for 19 yards and rushed six times for -1 yard.
- Bingham High standout DT Jay Tufele recorded two tackles in the Jets’ loss to Dallas.
- Two former Utes on the Broncos got into the box score in week five. LB Jonah Elliss had three total tackles (two solo). LB Karene Reid had one solo tackle.
- Bingham High standout TE Dalton Schultz caught five passes for 60 yards in Houston’s blowout win over Baltimore.
- Former BYU LB Kyle Van Noy had one solo tackle, one sack, and one tackle for loss. It was Van Noy’s first sack of the season.
- Former Utah LB Cody Barton posted six total tackles (four solo) in Tennessee’s first win of the season.
- Former Utah kicker Matt Gay went 2/2 on field goals and 3/3 on extra points in Washington’s win over the Chargers.
- Former BYU DT Khyiris Tonga posted three total tackles (one solo) on SNF.
- Former Utah safety Cole Bishop had two solo tackles, a sack, and a quarterback hit against New England.
- Former Weber State CB Taron Johnson had two solo tackles on Sunday night.

- Former BYU offensive lineman Blake Freeland and the Indianapolis Colts stomped the Las Vegas Raiders, 40-6, to improve to 4-1 on the season.
- Former Utah offensive lineman Garett Bolles and the Denver Broncos handed the Philadelphia Eagles their first loss of the season in week five.
- Former BYU offensive lineman Brady Christensen and the Carolina Panthers squeaked out a three-point win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
- Desert Hills High offensive lineman Penei Sewell and the Detroit Lions improved to 4-1 with a win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
