Locals In The NFL: Week Two Player Power Rankings

As the NFL season moves from week two to week three, teams and players start to separate themselves from the pack.
These performances across the second week of the NFL season caused movement in our NFL locals player power rankings.

KSL Sports Locals In The NFL Power Rankings
Beginning this NFL season, we’ll post weekly player power rankings that shift as players make their mark.
These rankings are subjective — comparing offensive linemen to defensive backs and quarterbacks to linebackers will never be perfect.
Early in the season, past production is somewhat taken into account alongside what we’ve seen so far and expectations for the rest of the season. Enough build-up, let’s get to the list.
Honorable Mentions
These are players who are in the mix but on the outside looking in. An argument can be made for each one of these guys, but they failed to make the top ten for one reason or another.
Kyle Van Noy (BYU, Ravens LB), Dalton Kincaid (Utah, Bills TE), Taron Johnson (Weber State, Bills CB), Jonah Elliss (Utah, Broncos LB), Cody Barton (Utah, Titans LB), Clark Phillips III (Utah, Falcons CB), Dalton Schultz (Bingham High, Texans TE), Taysom Hill (BYU, Saints TE), Kaden Elliss (Judge Memorial High, Falcons LB)

10. Tyler Allgeier – BYU – Falcons RB
Despite being Atlanta’s backup, it was about time Allgeier got some love on this list. He is the Robin to Bijan Robinson’s Batman for what could be the best running back tandem in the NFL.
In week two, the former Cougar took 16 carries for 76 yards and scored the Falcons’ only touchdown on Sunday Night Football.
9. Rashid Shaheed – Weber State – Saints WR
Shaheed got into the end zone for the first time, and he gets into our power rankings for the first time after week two. New Orleans’ deep threat receiver really came into his own after his first return to action from injury in week one.
The former Wildcat had four receptions for 52 yards and a TD. All signs point to that being the first of many in 2025.
8. Jaylon Johnson – Utah – Bears CB
Johnson made his debut in week two and didn’t look bad by any means, but it was clearly his first game of the season as well.
He was targeted three times and allowed one catch. He also had two solo tackles.
The former Ute at No. 8 may be generous based on his one performance, but the masses agree he is a top ten corner in the league, so he gets a “benefit of the doubt” slot in our rankings.
7. Jaylen Warren – East High – Steelers RB
On the opposite end of the spectrum, Warren earned every ounce of his No. 7 placement this week.
He had 134 scrimmage yards and did everything but get in the end zone for Pittsburgh. They lost in Seattle, but not to the fault of the former East High star. PFF has Warren as the fourth-highest graded running back in the league, as well as the second-highest graded receiving back. Third-highest? Christian McCaffrey.
Warren has jumped from not even an honorable mention in preseason to 10th last week, and now seventh.
6. Garett Bolles – Utah – Broncos OT
Another criminally slept on player in these power rankings, now getting the respect they deserve, is Garett Bolles.
PFF has Bolles as the third-best pass-blocking tackle in the NFL and the 11th-best overall. His production is down a bit from last year as well.
The former Ute being in the top ten is long overdue.
5. Jordan Love – Utah State – Packers QB
I wanted to put Love into the top four, but I decided to give him one more week to prove it.
In week two, the former Aggie completed 19 of 31 passes for 292 yards and two touchdowns. No interceptions. The Packers win. That’s all you need to know. In case you aren’t convinced, he has a better passing grade than Josh Allen and a better rushing grade than Kyler Murray.
If Love shows out against the Cleveland Browns in week three, don’t be surprised to see him jump at least one spot.
4. Bobby Wagner – Utah State – Commanders LB
If there’s any man whose consistency can shine brighter than all else, it’s Wagner.
For what feels like the millionth time, he posted a double-digit tackling game in week two. Through two weeks, he hasn’t missed a single tackle.
His overall PFF defensive grade from week two was 90.1, sixth best amongst all linebackers.
3. Penei Sewell – Desert Hills High – Lions OT
For the first time this season, Sewell has dropped down in our rankings.
Heading into the year, his peers voted him as the No. 1 offensive tackle and 13th-best player overall in the NFL. Through two weeks, his pass-block rating is 69.5 and his run block rating is 75.2. That places him as the eighth-best OT.
However, it is still early. Both Sewell and the Lions have some work to do in 2025.
2. Puka Nacua – BYU – Rams WR
The person replacing Sewell in the top two is none other than Puka Nacua.
In week two, he caught eight passes for 91 yards and scored on a 45-yard rush in the first quarter. Oh, and by the way, he’s the highest-graded receiver in the NFL according to PFF. He has a 90.9 receiving grade and a 91.0 overall offense grade, both first for wide receivers.
The Rams are one of three 2-0 teams in the NFC West and will look to make it 3-0 against the Eagles in Philadelphia.

1. Fred Warner – BYU – 49ers LB
At No. 1, to no surprise to anyone, is All-Pro Fred Warner.
In week two, the former Cougar posted 11 tackles (seven solo), one tackle for loss, one pass breakup, and one fumble recovery. He had a PFF grade of 95.1 which was first for linebackers and second in the NFL, only behind Joey Bosa.
Warner and the Niners will also look to remain undefeated against the Arizona Cardinals in week three.
