Locals In The NFL: Week Eight Player Power Rankings

With week nine of the NFL season in full swing, let’s look back at the first eight weeks to update our local player power rankings.
Now that just about half of the season is in the rearview mirror, the players at the top of the rankings are starting to solidify themselves.
That said, there continues to be a good amount of movement in the 5 to 10 range.

KSL Sports Locals In The NFL Power Rankings
Beginning this NFL season, we’ll post weekly player power rankings that shift as players make their mark.
These rankings are subjective — comparing offensive linemen to defensive backs, and quarterbacks to linebackers will never be perfect.
As the 2025 season goes on, performances in recent years matter less and less. Enough build-up, let’s get to the list.
Honorable Mentions
These are players who are in the mix but still on the outside looking in. An argument can be made for each one of these guys, but they failed to make the top ten for one reason or another.
Rashid Shaheed (Weber State, Saints WR), Taron Johnson (Weber State, Bills CB), Kyle Van Noy (BYU, Ravens LB), Jackson Hawes (Highland High, Bills TE), Jonah Elliss (Utah, Broncos LB), Cody Barton (Utah, Titans LB), Clark Phillips III (Utah, Falcons CB), Kaden Elliss (Judge Memorial High, Falcons LB)
There are a handful of injured players who would likely make the top ten if healthy, but are left out of the rankings. This includes former BYU LB Fred Warner, former Utah CB Jaylon Johnson, and former Utah S Julian Blackmon.

10. Jaylen Warren – East High – Steelers RB
Although he hasn’t seen the end zone much this season, Warren is an absolute yards machine within the Pittsburgh offense.
He is on pace for over 1200 scrimmage yards this season, and he’s already missed a game.
9. Tyler Allgeier – BYU – Falcons RB
Last week, Allgeier tied his career-high for rushing touchdowns in a season with four. The season isn’t even halfway over quite yet.
With 207 yards and 184 yards after contact, the former Cougar is a massive part of what might be the best RB tandem in the league.
8. Dalton Kincaid – Utah – Bills TE
Fresh off a bye week, Kincaid looks to add to his career year as the season approaches its midpoint.
He has already surpassed his high mark of touchdowns in a season with plenty of time to continue piling on. On 27 targets this season, Kincaid has three touchdowns and just one drop.
7. Garett Bolles – Utah – Broncos OL
Bolles and the Broncos have been a steady force this year and, in all likelihood, will see a second-straight postseason appearance because of it.
PFF grades have Bolles as the 11th-best offensive lineman and the best pass blocker in the NFL currently.
6. Jaxson Dart – Roy & Corner Canyon High – Giants QB
Dart has burst onto the scene in the Big Apple and quickly shown he belongs in this league.
Although another loss and the season-ending injury to Cam Skattebo hurt last week, Dart and the Giants look to keep their foot on the gas in the NFC East.

5. Devin Lloyd – Utah – Jaguars LB
Although we haven’t seen Lloyd in two weeks, he still leads the NFL in interceptions. Facing the Raiders and turnover-prone Geno Smith this weekend, he could add to his season total in week nine.
It’s a career year for the former Ute, and he’s proving he should get paid in Duval County.
4. Bobby Wagner – Utah State – Commanders LB
There isn’t two ways about it. Even at 35 years old, Wagner is the pinnacle of consistency and undoubtedly a top 10 linebacker in the NFL.
Last week, the former Aggie grabbed his first interception in over two years.
3. Penei Sewell – Desert Hills High – Lions OL
There really isn’t much of a debate to be made. Sewell is the best offensive lineman in the NFL. Taking it a step further, he is one of the best run blockers in league history.
Detroit is a top 10 team in the NFL right now, and a lot of that credit is owed to domination in the trenches.
2. Jordan Love – Utah State – Packers QB
As the shot caller on the second-best team in the NFL right now, Love makes this list almost as a default.
However, his No. 2 placement is well-earned as he’s played like a top ten QB this season. Love is top ten in completion percentage and total passing yards, as well as posting one of the best touchdown-to-interception ratios of his career.
1. Puka Nacua – BYU – Rams WR
Although we haven’t seen Nacua in two weeks, his numbers through six games speak for themselves.
PFF still has him ranked as the number one receiver in the NFL, so he will continue to top our power rankings.
