SALT LAKE CITY – New Orleans Saints quarterback, former BYU star Taysom Hill has proven to be a team player. After losing out in the starting quarterback battle to Jameis Winston, Hill was switched back to the “F position” within Sean Payton’s Saints offense.

More commonly known as the “Swiss Army Knife” role for the Saints. A spot that allows Hill to do a variety of things on the field.

This past Sunday, Hill rushed for a game-clinching touchdown in the Saints 28-13 win over the Patriots.

After the game, Hill was asked in the postgame press conference, “When it was time to switch back to that, were you immediately willing to do whatever they asked of you. Was it tough to switch back in that mode?”

Hill was candid and responded with a mindset that he’s bought into the Saints team no matter what.

“I mean, yeah. I would be lying if I … if I, you know obviously, I wanted to have the opportunity to play quarterback. But it wasn’t my time,” Hill said. “And so, you’ve gotta find ways to help the team win. So with that in mind, I was happy to step [back] into a role that gave us an advantage and helped us win. It’s been all-go since then for sure.”

Taysom Hill has played 65 offensive snaps through three games this season. He’s also been contributing to special teams, where he has seen action on 12 snaps this season.

To date this season, Hill has rushed for 49 yards on 10 carries. Hill had one pass attempt in week one against the Green Bay Packers that was complete for three yards in the passing game.
