Williams Plays Well For Struggling Packers, Smith Comes Home

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Although his team has been considered a major disappointment this season, the Green Bay Packers’ Jamaal Williams turned in perhaps one of his best performances in the Packers loss to the NFC North Division champion Chicago Bears.

While he didn’t play due to his horrific leg injury, Alex Smith finally returned to his home after nearly a month in the hospital.

Former Utes

Zane Beadles – Falcons (5-9)
Beadles started at right guard for the Falcons, who were eliminated from the playoffs despite beating Arizona 40-14 on Sunday.

Garett Bolles – Broncos (6-8)
The Broncos fell to the Browns 17-16 with Bolles starting for the Broncos at left tackle.
NEXT UP: at Raiders (3-11), Monday at 6:15 p.m. on ESPN.

Devontae Booker – Broncos (6-8)
In the loss to the Browns, Booker had two catches for 17 yards and one kick return for 35 yards.

Star Lotulelei – Bills (5-9)
The Bills eliminated the Lions from playoff contention with a 14-13 victory. Lotulelei started on the defensive line for Buffalo and did not register a tackle in the win.

Tim Patrick – Broncos (6-8)
Following his career game last week, Patrick had another strong performance with five catches for 65 yards in the Broncos’ loss to Cleveland.

Sam Tevi – Chargers (11-3)
The Chargers won in dramatic fashion over the Chiefs on Thursday with Tevi getting the start at right tackle.

Eric Weddle – Ravens (8-6)
Weddle broke out the victory ice cream after the Ravens’ 20-12 win over the Buccaneers. The former Ute great finished with six combined tackles in the victory.

Marcus Williams – Saints (11-2)
Williams is listed as active for Monday’s contest against the Panthers. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.

Former Aggies

Kyler Fackrell – Green Bay Packers (5-8-1)
Fackrell had two solo tackles to go with his four total take-downs in the Packers’ 24-17 loss to the Chicago Bears.

Tyler Larsen – Carolina Panthers (6-7)
Larsen is expected to play against the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football.

Nevin Lawson – Detroit Lions (5-9)
Lawson started at cornerback and collected four tackles and a deflected pass in the Lions’ loss to the Buffalo Bills 14-13.

Patrick Scales – Chicago Bears (10-4)
Scales executed nine special teams snaps in the Bears’ 24-17 win over the Green Bay Packers. Chicago clinched the NFC North with the win.
NEXT UP: at San Francisco 49ers (4-10), Sunday at 2:05 p.m. on FOX.

Nick Vigil – Cincinnati Bengals (6-8)
Vigil recorded five tackles as the Bengals beat the Oakland Raiders 30-16.
NEXT UP: at Cleveland Browns (6-7-1), Sunday at 11 a.m. on CBS.

Zach Vigil – Washington Redskins (7-7)

Vigil had one tackle on 22 special team’s snaps in the Redskins’ 16-13 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Bobby Wagner – Seattle Seahawks (7-6)
Wagner racked up six solo tackles in the Seahawks’ 26-23 overtime loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Former Cougars

Michael Davis – Chargers (11-3)
In the Chargers’ dramatic win over Kansas City, Davis started at cornerback and made four tackles and had a pass deflection.

John Denney – Dolphins (7-7)
The long time long snapper executed 10 special teams snaps in the Dolphins’ 41-17 loss to the Vikings.

Taysom Hill – Saints (11-2)
Hill is listed as active for Monday night’s game against the Panthers.

Bronson Kaufusi – Jets (4-10)
Signed earlier in the week, Kaufusi got his first action of the season by playing in three defensive snaps and seven special teams plays in the Jets’ loss to Houston.

Daniel Sorensen – Chiefs (11-3)
Sorensen had three solo tackles in the Chiefs heartbreaking loss to the Chargers on Thursday.

Kyle Van Noy – Patriots (9-5)
New England lost to the Steelers, 17-10 but Van Noy finished with a sack on Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Rothlisberger and had three solo tackles.

Fred Warner – 49ers  (4-10)
Warner had another strong game with nine combined tackles as the Niners squeaked out a 26-23 overtime win over the Seahawks.
NEXT UP: vs. Bears (10-4), Sunday at 2:05 p.m. on FOX.

Jamaal Williams – Packers (5-8-1)
Williams finished with a season-high in total yardage after rushing the ball 12 times for 55 yards and making four catches for 42 yards. He also scored a rushing touchdown in the third quarter to help tie the game up at 14-all. In the end however, the Packers suffered another loss, this time to the Bears.

Killabrew found the field for 19 special teams snaps in the Lions loss to Buffalo.
