Oklahoma City Comets Benefit From Dodgers Top-5 Farm System

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah – Hall of Fame-bound lefthander Clayton Kershaw won’t be making a start against the Salt Lake Bees. However, Oklahoma City’s roster is still stacked with several outsized baseball talents.
The Oklahoma City Comets, Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, arrive in Utah with a roster featuring former and future MLB talent.
Clever drafting, trade success, and international free agent spending have elevated the Dodgers’ farm system to a top-four ranking in Major League Baseball.
OKC’s roster features two top-100 prospects across MLB, four top-30 organizational prospects, and several others that have or are expected to make significant big league contributions this season.

The Comets roll into Daybreak fresh off a Sunday afternoon doubleheader sweep of the Tacoma Rainiers.
Salt Lake is 10-11 and fourth in the Pacific Coast League West Division. Oklahoma City leads the PCL East with a 14-7 record.
Rehabbing Los Angeles Starter boosts Comets’ Staff
Tony Gonsolin
The five-year MLB veteran underwent Tommy John surgery in February 2024, forcing him to miss the entire season. Gonsolin has made three starts for OKC, striking out 13 and walking four in nine productive innings.

The righty gave up six hits and three earned runs across four innings in his most recent appearance on April 15.
Gonsolin is 34-11 in his MLB career. He holds a 3.19 ERA and a very good .195 opponents batting average against in 375.2 IP.
Past & Present Dodger prospects litter Oklahoma City roster
Dalton Rushing – MLB No. 28 Prospect (No. 2 Dodgers)
A 2022 second-round pick (40th overall), Rushing is no stranger to prospect lists. He earned the California League Player of the Month award while playing for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, one month after being drafted.

Rushing was named to the 2023 MLB Futures Game while playing for the High-A Great Lakes Loons. He became a Dodgers MiLB.com Organizational All-Star to end the year after opening the season as the Dodgers’ eighth-ranked prospect.
The No. 1 prospect in the system entering 2024, Rushing advanced to Triple-A for the first time, hitting .273 with six doubles, nine home runs, and 26 RBI. He is hitting .286 with one homer and five RBI in 2025.
Alex Freeland – MLB No. 68 Prospect (No. 5 Dodgers)
Another 2022 MLB Draft selection, LA selected Freeland in the third round (105th overall) out of Central Florida. Freeland appeared in 39 games with Oklahoma City last season, slashing .243/.335/.396, with five homers and 18 RBI.

The slick-fielding infielder is hitting .329 this season with 11 doubles and 18 RBI.
Justin Wrobleski – No. 11 Prospect
Wrobleski came to the Dodgers as a 2021 11th-round pick, and the left-hander steadily climbed through the system before making his MLB debut last season. He made his MLB debut in 2024, making eight appearances (six starts), finishing the year with a 5.70 ERA in 36.1 IP.
He made one start with Los Angeles this season, getting rocked for eight runs on eight hits in five innings.
Wrobleski hasn’t found his footing with the Dodgers, but his minor league numbers pop. He has a career 3.28 MiLB ERA in 233.1 innings, including ten appearances with OKC. Wrobleski has limited batters to a .191 BAA but has struggled with command, walking ten batters to only 11 strikeouts.
Nick Frasso – No. 13 Prospect
Frasso was placed on the 60-day injured list last March, before eventually being transferred to the season-ending IL in August. He made his Triple-A debut with Oklahoma City in 2023, throwing 19.1 innings to the tune of a 3.26 ERA.
Nick Frasso is ramping up one extra inning at a time coming off the shoulder surgery last year. In his 1st 2 outings, he went 2 innings, then tonight he went 3, which is great to see.

Frasso is 2-0 in 2025, making five appearances and two starts with a 4.85 ERA.
Bobby Miller
Salt Lake’s lineup will get an immediate taste of the Dodgers’ firepower as it faces right-handed fireballer Bobby Miller. Considered LA’s second-ranked prospect as recently as 2023, Miller is still looking to recreate his minor league success at the next level.
The 2020 first-round pick struggled to miss bats in his lone MLB start in 2025. Miller gave up eight hits and two homers while surrendering six earned runs against the Colorado Rockies on April 16.
Bobby Miller had been heavy sinker/curveball in his outings in OKC, which has been a good plan for him. He has so much “stuff” sometimes simplifying is hard to do, because you feel like you’re leaving so much of your playbook untapped.

Miller is making his fourth start this year and third with Oklahoma City. He has a 2.25 ERA with 11 strikeouts and a 1.42 WHIP.
Hyeseong Kim
One of Korean baseball’s best hitters, Kim signed with the Dodgers as a free agent in December, inking a three-year deal with $12.5 million guaranteed. He hit .304 over the past eight seasons in Korea, stealing 20 or more bases in each of the past seven years.

Kim .326/.383/.458 with 11 home runs and 30 steals in 2024, setting the stage for free agency. After meeting with several teams, Kim opted to sign with the Dodgers even though playing time could be sparse, as indicated by his starting the year with Oklahoma City.
Kim is hitting .265 with four long balls, 17 RBI, and six stolen bases in 19 games.
James Outman
The former seventh-round pick exploded onto the scene in 2023 when he hit 23 home runs while playing 151 games for the Dodgers. The deceptively athletic outfielder ended the year with 16 doubles, three triples, and 70 RBI while hitting .248.

Outman regressed last year, riding the Los Angeles to Oklahoma City shuttle four different times as he struggled to rediscover his previous success. He ended the year slashing .147/.256/.265 in 53 games.
In 20 games this year, Outman continues to scuffle with the bat. He is hitting .179 and has 35 punchouts against only seven walks.

In the first game played at The Ballpark at America First Square, the new home of the Bees, Neto blasted a homer that bounced off the gigantic video board beyond the left field bullpens. He also made every play defensively at shortstop, proving that his shoulder is once again ready for big league action.
Neto played 13 games with Salt Lake, slashing .286/.397/.592 with four long balls, three doubles, and eight runs driven in.
