Instant Replay: Seven-Year Old With Cancer Fulfills ‘Ultimate Wish’

SALT LAKE CITY – The Chicago White Sox gave Beau Dowling the thrill of a lifetime when he was able to run the bases prior the the White Sox-Orioles game on Saturday, June 25.
The seven-year old Dowling was recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer after battling neuroblastoma as a toddler.
Today we welcomed 7-year-old Beau Dowling for an ultimate day!

According toe MLB.com, Dowling was diagnosed with neuroblastoma as a toddler. Stem cell transplants and multiple rounds of chemotherapy, radiation and immunotherapy helped the youngster fight the high-risk cancer. Recently, Beau was diagnosed with thyroid cancer for the second time.

After running the bases, Baltimore Orioles outfielder and colon cancer survivor Trey Mancini took a moment to speak with Beau, his parents and six siblings.
Along with running the bases in a “Home Run For Life” ahead of the game, Dowling threw out the first pitch and enthusiastically declared “Play Ball” to kickstart the game.
