Diego Luna Scores Two Goals In Five Minutes Against LA Galaxy

SALT LAKE CITY – Against the reigning champion LA Galaxy, Real Salt Lake midfielder Diego Luna shot out of a cannon to score two goals in about five minutes of game time.
The first goal came in the 21st minute. Off a beautiful feed from Alexandros Katranis, Luna scored his second goal of the season.

His first goal came just moments after a very disappointing breakaway miss. Diogo Gonçalves had nothing but the goalkeeper and grass in front of him but he sent his shot high.
Thankfully, Luna more than made up for it.
In the 26th minute, the Galaxy briefly controlled a cross from Ariath Piol. But, in the blink of an eye, Luna blitzed the ball and found the bottom right corner to make it 2-0.

Through the first 30 minutes, LA had the slight advantage in time of possession but Real made the most of its time with more shots and shots on goal.
Real Salt Lake Hosts Reigning MLS Champion LA Galaxy
Real Salt Lake makes a quick stop at America First Field in their first match of April to host the LA Galaxy, who claimed the MLS Cup in 2024.
Real comes into the matchup on a two-game losing streak and a 1-2 record at home in MLS play.
It hasn’t been all sunshine in Los Angeles though. Across all competitions, the Galaxy have three draws and one loss in their last four.
LA beat RSL in Utah last year, 1-0. When Real went to Dignity Health Sports Park, the clubs played to a 2-2 draw.
