Real Salt Lake Makes Two Important, Long-Term Signings

SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake has inked head coach Pablo Mastroeni and Sporting Director Kurt Schmid to multi-year contract extensions. Former RSL player Tony Beltran has been elevated to Assistant Sporting Director under Schmid.
The franchise announced the extensions and Beltran’s promotion on Wednesday, November 5.

About Pablo Mastroeni
Pastroeni took the reins in 2021 and has led the club to postseason appearances in his first five seasons. He is the sixth-ever MLS head coach to reach that achievement.
He earned the 100th coaching win of his young career with a 3-1 victory over San Diego in late April.
Mastroeni has a 109-122-81 career record. He is 71-66-45 with Real Salt Lake.
About Kurt Schmid
Schmid was named Real Salt Lake’s Technical Director in 2021 and, alongside Mastroeni, has helped pilot the club to five consecutive playoff appearances.
Five RSL players have been named All-Stars during Schmid’s tenure, and more than a dozen players have advanced from the Academy and/or RSL Monarchs to appear with the first team.
