BYU’s Keba Keita signs with Indiana Pacers

PROVO, Utah – Despite going undrafted in the 2026 NBA draft, BYU center Keba Keita will get his chance to make a mark in the league.
The former Utah and Wasatch Academy standout signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Indiana Pacers.

Keita will join the Pacers for NBA Summer League action in hopes of earning an invite to training camp or a two-way deal for the upcoming season.
No matter what, the deal allows Keita to flex his muscle against NBA-level talent in hopes of impressing a team.

Who is Keba Keita?
Once a standout defender at Wastach Academy in Utah, Keita began his collegiate career with the Utah Utes after earning NIBC Defensive Player of the Year recognition as a prep player.
He was the No. 84 prospect in the ESPN Top 100 in 2022, but struggled to reach that ceiling with the Utes.

He averaged 10.5 minutes a night and scored three points per game as a freshman.
As a sophomore, Keita’s dynamic defensive presence began to show up.
The 6’8″ high-flyer averaged more than a block per game despite only playing 16 minutes a night. He added 8.3 points on 61 percent shooting.
Keita transferred to BYU for the 2024-25 season to play in Kevin Young’s NBA-style system.

He went on to start 68 games and became a defensive anchor in the paint for BYU.
Keita averaged 1.5 blocks per game, using his explosiveness to become a critical helpside defender in the Cougars’ system.
In 22 minutes a night, he added 7.5 rebounds and scored 6.9 points on better than 67 percent shooting.
What is an Exhibit 10 contract?
Exhibit 10 contract came into existence with the 2017 collective bargaining agreement between the league and its players. They may only be used for one-year, non-guaranteed contracts that include the NBA minimum salary.
They can be a useful tool for building a Summer League and G-League roster.
Exhibit 10 contracts do not include bonuses unless a player is waived, then signs in the G-League and spends at least 60 days.
If an Exhibit 10 deal is converted to a two-way contract, bonus money becomes guaranteed.
NBA teams are limited to six active Exhibit 10 contracts at any given time.
