Mudiay, Mitchell Score Five Points In One Second To End First Quarter

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Utah Jazz guards Donovan Mitchell and Emmanuel Mudiay scored 5 points in the last 1.4 seconds of the first quarter against the Brooklyn Nets.

Mitchell shot two free throws, making them both before the Nets inbounded the ball but Mudiay stole the pass, quickly turned around and fired a three-pointer before the buzzer.
The sequence gave the Jazz a 30-26 lead at the end of the first quarter after trailing by one point when Mitchell went to the free throw line. At the end of the opening period, Mitchell had just two points on those two made free throws. Mudiay scored 5 points in the first quarter on 2-3 shooting and 1-2 from beyond the arc.

Mitchell is appearing in his first game back after missing the previous contest against the Washington Wizards, a game that the Jazz won on Sunday to collect their ninth straight win. Mudiay started in place of Mitchell and posted 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in 30 minutes on the floor, shooting 6-10 from the field and 1-4 from downtown.
