Report: Utah Jazz Trade Center Ed Davis To New York Knicks

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz agreed to trade center Ed Davis to the New York Knicks, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The move arrived one day after the Jazz selected center Udoka Azubuike with the No. 27 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and reportedly traded center Tony Bradley to the Detroit Pistons.
According to the NBA insider, Utah will be sending New York a pair of 2023 second round picks in addition to Davis.
Davis has one year left on the two-year deal he signed with the Jazz in 2019.

The trade was Utah’s fourth trade in two days and the franchise’s second with the Knicks.
Prior to the start of the NBA Draft, the Jazz and Knicks completed a trade that had Utah exchange the No. 23 pick for New York’s No. 27 and No. 38 picks.
Two seconds is a bit of a heavy price, but it likely frees the Jazz up to sign Jordan Clarkson, use the full $9.2 MLE and the $3.6 BAE without running into the hard cap.

Davis, a ten-year veteran, played in 28 games for the Jazz, including one start.
During his time with the Jazz, the center averaged 1.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 0.4 assists, and 0.3 blocks per game.

Davis owns career averages of 6.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 0.8 assists, and 0.8 blocks per contest.
