Jazz Make Comeback With Dynamite Third Quarter Against Pelicans

SALT LAKE CITY – For the second game in a row, the Utah Jazz erased a considerable deficit after turning up the heat in the third quarter.
The Pelicans led by as much as 18 early in the game. Utah caught fire after halftime and stormed all the way back to take the lead.

Oscar Tshiebwe and Keyonte George were the comeback heroes for the Jazz.
The duo combined for 27 points in the first 18 minutes of the second half. George added five assists to his 22 points and Tshiebwe added 13 rebounds to his 16 points.
Going into the fourth, Utah tied the game up at 91-91.

Zion Williamson and CJ McCollum were the driving forces for New Orleans. They combined for 47 points on nearly 60 percent shooting through three and a half quarters.
However, when either of them were off the floor, the Pelicans offense sputtered. The Jazz were able to take advantage of these minutes and slowly claw their way back into the game.
New Orleans was able to regain control later in the fourth but the outcome was still far from decided thanks to the Jazz’s run.
Utah Jazz Host Pelicans In Battle Of West’s Bottomfeeders
Utah and New Orleans both have bottom-five records in the NBA. Despite this, both teams have had almost questionable levels of success following the All-Star break. The Jazz are coming off a gritty victory and have also won three of their last seven. Meanwhile, the Pelicans have won four of their last six.
The two teams are currently 14th and 15th in the Western Conference and only separated by 0.5 games. This is the last matchup of the season series with New Orleans already having two wins over Utah under its belt from earlier this year.
If the Jazz fall to the Pelicans for the third time this season, the gap in the standings between the two teams will increase as well as Utah’s chances of securing top odds in the 2025 NBA Draft.
