SALT LAKE CITY – One of the top quarterbacks out West has announced his top three schools.

Brody Rudnicki from Folsom High School in Northern California released his final three schools on X on Sunday. Both BYU and Utah make the final cut of schools, along with Cal from the ACC.

“Beyond blessed to be in this position!! Grateful for everyone who has helped me get to this point,” Rudnicki wrote on X.

His “Final 3” edit featured pictures of Utah great Alex Smith, former BYU star Zach Wilson, and Cal legend Aaron Rodgers.

Rudnicki has official visits scheduled with all three schools next month.

During the recent spring evaluation period, both BYU and Utah made in-home visits with Rudnicki. Utah’s new quarterbacks coach, Ryan Gunderson, visited him, while BYU sent its new quarterbacks assistant coach, Tyler Hughes.

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Rudnicki is rated as the 60th overall quarterback in the 247Sports Composite rankings for the 2027 cycle.

Preparing to take center stage at California powerhouse Folsom High

Brody Rudnicki is preparing for his first full season as the starter at Folsom High. The three-star prospect has been the backup to four-star QB and BYU signee Ryder Lyons

But Rudnicki did have opportunities to step in as the starter when Lyons dealt with injuries last season. Including where he was thrust into action in the CIF Playoffs semifinals after Lyons suffered a shoulder injury.

Rudnicki led Folsom to a comeback victory in that semifinal game, then, in a fog-filled CIF 1-AA Championship Game against Cathedral Catholic a week later, he accounted for six touchdowns, leading Folsom to another state championship.

Rudnicki passed for 972 yards last season, completing 72.4% of his passes and had 13 touchdowns. He also rushed 302 yards on the ground with six TD runs.
