BYU Basketball Availability Report Entering UCF Game

PROVO, Utah – BYU basketball looks to follow up a big win by stacking up more victories.

The first opportunity for another victory for No. 19 BYU after the upset over No. 4 Iowa State is against UCF on Tuesday night.

BYU enters the matchup against the Knights with a 20-7 overall record and an 8-6 mark in Big 12 play.

Like BYU, UCF is also 8-6 in league games this season. BYU and UCF are tied for sixth place in the Big 12 Conference standings.

Khadim Mboup update

BYU has the same availability report as last week’s games against Arizona and Iowa State. That’s notable considering reserve forward Khadim Mboup was limping with 2:23 to go in BYU’s win over Iowa State last Saturday.

BYU head coach Kevin Young said Mboup was limited in practice on Monday but would be available Tuesday night against the Knights. Young added, “I think he’d have to saw his leg off for him to not play in the game.”

Mboup provided a valuable spark off the bench for the Cougars in the last outing, grabbing 10 rebounds to go along with five points.

On the UCF side of the availability report, the Knights’ leading scorer, Riley Kugel, is “questionable” for Tuesday night.

Kugel missed UCF’s win over Utah in Salt Lake City on Saturday night due to an undisclosed injury that he suffered in the win over TCU.

Kugel, a transfer from Mississippi State, is averaging 14 points per game this season for the Knights.
