BYU Signee Adam Bywater Earns ‘Man Of The Year’ Award

SALT LAKE CITY – BYU football signee and former Olympus High standout Adam Bywater received a prestigious award within high school football.

Bywater was named the Navy All-American Bowl Man of the Year. It’s an award that is given to a high school football player who “epitomizes a high standard of excellence in community service and athletic distinction.”

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Bywater finished his prep career as a four-star linebacker. He had 121 tackles and six interceptions, a sack, a field goal block, a punt block, and also had five receiving touchdowns on the offensive side during his senior year in 2025.

Bywater signed with BYU football during the Early Signing Period in December.

Adam Bywater is the second consecutive BYU football signee to earn the Navy All-American Man of the Year award.

Last year, BYU running back signee McKay Madsen earned the award. Madsen is currently serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Argentina.

For the 2026 Man of the Year award, Bywater beat out fellow BYU signee Jax Tanner, who was a finalist for the award.

Bywater is the younger brother of former BYU linebacker Ben Bywater, who played for the Cougars from 2019 to 2023.

Bywater ranks as the 155th overall prospect in the 247Sports rankings for the class of 2026.

He picked BYU over offers from Arizona State, Boise State, Utah, and others.

BYU football currently ranks 25th in the country for the 2026 recruiting cycle, according to 247Sports.
