BYU offensive tackle Andrew Gentry shares injury update

PROVO — BYU football will be without starting right tackle Andrew Gentry for an extended period of time.
The senior standout was removed from the depth chart on Monday, as No. 10 BYU prepares for TCU. Then, hours after BYU’s depth chart reveal, Gentry turned to social media to give an update on his injury status.
Gentry revealed that he suffered an ankle injury during the win at Colorado State. A Littleton, Colorado native, Gentry has started every game at right tackle for BYU since transferring from Michigan.
At the end of his post, Gentry wrote that he looks forward to “coming back by the end of the season.”
Gentry will be replaced by either true freshman Bott Mulitalo or redshirt freshman Siosiua Latu-Finau. Both players are highly regarded in the program but haven’t played much in college.
Mulitalo was the primary backup at right tackle to Gentry throughout fall camp and the first quarter of the season.

Gentry wrote on his personal Instagram page the following message:
Believe in God; believe that he is…believe that he has all wisdom, and all power…believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend.
What I thought I was a mild ankle sprain in the first quarter of the CSU game ended up being a little more significant than that. It’s been a tough week processing everything that’s happened since the injury. While this wasn’t how I imagined this season to go, I have had the calming and powerful reassurance that God is in the details of my life.
Mosiah 4:9 has always been one of my favorite Book of Mormon verses and I just so happened to come back across it in my personal studies yesterday. I don’t have any comprehension as to why this injury happened, but what I do comprehend, and know with a surety, is that God lives and His son Jesus Christ is our Redeemer. Because I know this, I find peace knowing that His plan is greater than mine and He can comprehend everything.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out and helped in so many ways. I’ve received countless texts from friends and family, received priesthood blessings, and been told by so many they are praying for me.
I’m looking forward to coming back by the end of the season stronger than ever!
