PROVO, Utah – BYU football has some good news on the availability report, in the buildup to Saturday’s rivalry game against Utah.
The undefeated Cougars are expected to have linebacker Jack Kelly back in action.

Kelly, BYU’s leader in sacks this season, missed last week due to a shoulder injury. He practiced all of last week and has been participating in practices this week.
BYU defensive coordinator Jay Hill said he expects his star linebacker to “go” in the rivalry game.
Kelly didn’t appear on the initial availability report on Wednesday night.

The bad news for BYU is that starting safety Raider Damuni is “Doubtful” for Saturday’s clash with a lot of Big 12 stakes. Damuni was injured early in the win over Arizona last week in Tucson. He took a hit from a teammate’s helmet to the rib cage.
If Damuni is unavailable to go against the Utes, look for sophomore Faletau Satuala to get the start alongside Tanner Wall on the backend of the defense.

Another notable player on the availability report this week is BYU’s starting NICKEL Tommy Prassas. Prassas has missed the past two weeks with an injury; he is officially ruled “OUT” for Saturday.
BYU’s options at NICKEL include San Diego State transfer Tayvion Beasley, sophomore Jonathan Kabeya, and true freshman Cannon DeVries.
Reserve options at safety include veteran senior Talan Alfrey and redshirt freshman Matthias Leach.
