PROVO, Utah – Bear and Tiger Bachmeier have a big spotlight on them within the BYU football program.
There might be none bigger than the one true freshman Bear Bachmeier occupies as BYU’s starting quarterback.

Then you add in the fact that he wears the No. 47 as a quarterback, and he’s drawn comparisons from opposing coaches as “a centaur,” there’s a lot of attention on the Murrieta, California native.

The same goes for Tiger, who earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford in two and a half years before transferring from BYU.
With a big spotlight comes an opportunity to give back to the communities around them.
That’s what the talented brothers have made sure to do since they arrived at BYU.
Recently, after BYU’s 27-3 victory over their old team, Stanford, Bear and Tiger Bachmeier paid a visit to a senior living home in Provo with an uplifting 10-song guitar set.
Bear told the media before his first career start against Portland State last month that one of his favorite activities is playing guitar. He noted his favorite song to play is “Wagon Wheel.”

However, in this performance with his family, they played an hour’s worth of songs from the eras that connected with residents at the Courtyard at Jamestown Senior Living.
The idea to make this happen originated from Bear and Tiger’s great uncle, “Uncle Don,” who flew in from Minnesota for their game against Stanford. He performed alongside the BYU star brothers at the Senior Living center. Don’s son, James, also joined them during the performance.
Hector Rivas from Disruptive Sports, a family friend of the Bachmeier family and a BYU graduate, helped coordinate the event that had residents buzzing.
The performance even made its way to social media, courtesy of a recording from one of the 50 residents in attendance. The Hype Train Podcast X account shared a video, and it gained over 270,000 views on X, formerly Twitter.
Bear and Tiger’s older brother, former college quarterback Hank Bachmeier, replied to the video on X, saying, “Honored to be their big brother. You guys inspire me every day, thank you, Uncle Don and Cousin James, for helping out!!!”

After the 10-song set, Bear and Tiger participated in a 15-minute Q&A session with the residents.
Among the highlights was one of the residents asking, “Who’s the fastest brother?”
Tiger replied with a smile and said, “Did you see my punt return last night?”
Bear then added, “He better be faster–I’ve got 50 more pounds of muscle on him.”
Bear and Tiger didn’t intend for their love of guitars and act of kindness to make its way into the headlines.
However, it’s a positive reminder that, amidst all of the tough things in the world today, there are still simple moments when we can all smile.
