PROVO, Utah – The BYU football depth chart for week three against the East Carolina Pirates is out.
BYU enters the matchup against the Pirates with a 2-0 record, fresh off a bye week.
BYU football depth chart: East Carolina week notes
The third depth chart of the 2025 BYU football season gets everyone ready for a matchup against East Carolina.
Weylin Lapuaho returns to the depth chart
BYU will have starting left guard Weylin Lapuaho back this week against East Carolina.
“He practiced last week and is full go, and we’re excited to have him,” said BYU coach Kalani Sitake.
Cody Hagen is the third starter at wide receiver
With Jojo Phillips out with a shoulder injury, sophomore Cody Hagen steps into the starting lineup at wide receiver, along with Chase Roberts and Parker Kingston.
Shuffle at cornerback
The starters at cornerback entering the week against East Carolina include Evan Johnson and Therrian Alexander III. They were the top two in snap count against Stanford two weeks ago, and hold down the starter roles.
Mory Bamba is the third cornerback with an ‘OR’ between him and Alexander.
Return specialists
Last week, during the Coordinators’ Corner, BYU Special Teams Coordinator Kelly Poppinga hinted at a change at punt returner.
After consecutive weeks of Parker Kingston fumbling the ball on punt returns, Poppinga said that the starting spot at punt returner is Stanford transfer Tiger Bachmeier’s “job to lose.”
In this week’s depth chart, Bachmeier and Kingston have an ‘OR’ in between their names.
At kick returner, Cody Hagen is the first name listed with Kingston as the second. That was flipped in the first two weeks, with Kingston being the first return man listed.
