Jeremiah Williams commits to BYU football
The 6’0.5 “, 315-pound defensive lineman was trending toward BYU recently. He made it official on Thursday, becoming BYU’s highest-rated recruit so far in the 2027 class.
Williams is the No. 299 overall prospect in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. The Tustin, California standout is the 20th highest-rated recruit BYU has landed a commitment from since 2000.
Williams picked BYU over offers from North Carolina, Arizona State, UCLA, and others.
He was a top priority for BYU’s recruiting efforts in the 2027 cycle, as the Cougars offered him last year during the spring evaluation period.
Along with playing on the defensive line, he takes snaps at running back. However, at the collegiate level, Williams will be competing along Sione Po’uha’s defensive line.
Last season, Williams had 67 tackles and five sacks for a Tustin High squad that finished 9-2.
Williams has an official visit at BYU on June 19
Williams has an official visit lined up at BYU on June 19, which is shaping up to be a big weekend of visitors for the Cougars.
Fellow BYU commit Tytan Dejong from Mountain Ridge High School will also be on an official visit that weekend.
The same goes for uncommitted prospects such as Davis WR Bode Sparrow and Honolulu, Hawaii, offensive lineman Isaiah Bertola, among others.
