BYU QB Bear Bachmeier Lands Car Sponsorship With Local Dealership

PROVO, Utah – QB Bear Bachmeier drove the BYU offense with style in his first college start; now, he’ll be driving the streets in style after partnering with Murdock Ford.
Bachmeier and Murdock Ford in Santaquin, Utah, announced the sponsorship on Monday, September 1.

Bachmeier shines in collegiate debut
Portland State head coach Bruce Barnum compared Bachmeier to a mythological creature after he shredded the Vikings’ defense to the tune of five first-half touchdowns in the Cougars’ 2025 season-opener.

A slow start for the offense gave way to an avalanche of points as the true freshman got comfortable.
Bachmeier completed 7-of-11 passes for 97 yards and three touchdowns, flashing good arm strength and toughness in tight windows, uncommon traits for such an inexperienced player.
He added 32 rushing yards, scoring twice on the ground. Bachmeier leveraged his large frame to average 6.4 yards per carry.
About Bear Bachmeier
Bachmeier was one of the most decorated recruits in the country during his prep football career at Murrieta Valley High School in Murrieta, California.
He was considered a four-star recruit by on3 and Rivals, while ESPN listed Bachmeier as the 11th-best QB prospect in the class. Not a one-trick pony, Bachmeier also earned First Team All-Southwestern in 2024 while playing baseball. He lettered once in basketball.
Bachmeier finished his prep career with 6,810 passing yards and 59 touchdowns. The dual-threat QB also picked up 1,724 yards on the ground and scored 33 times. He averaged an astounding 10.6 yards per carry and 9.6 yards per completion.

Bachmeier signed with BYU’s week 2 opponent, the Stanford Cardinal, out of high school, spending the spring of 2025 working with the team before electing to transfer to BYU.
At 6’2 and 225 pounds, Bachmeier already has the requisite size to withstand the pounding that a Power Five QB will take over the course of a season.
His brother, Hank, played quarterback at Boise State, Louisiana Tech, and Wake Forest. Another brother, Tiger, is a junior wide receiver at BYU. His sister, Ella, ran track at the University of Redlands.
