Official Senior Bowl Measurements For BYU’s 2023 NFL Draft Hopefuls

PROVO, Utah – Senior Bowl week is underway for the 2023 season. The premier All-Star game for college football’s top seniors includes three former BYU football players.
Those players include quarterback Jaren Hall, wide receiver Puka Nacua, and offensive tackle Blake Freeland.

The Senior Bowl is a big step toward players fulfilling their dreams of playing in the NFL. When it comes to the NFL draft, a large piece of the evaluation is the official measurements of prospects. Sometimes a height, weight, or arm length alone could elevate a prospect’s draft stock.
2023 Senior Bowl Measurements
The Senior Bowl released the official measurements on Tuesday before the first day of practice.
Here is how the BYU prospects checked in at Mobile.
Jaren Hall, Quarterback
Height: 6001 (6’0 1/8)
Weight: 211
Hand: 9 4/8″
Arm: 29 7/8″
Wing: 71 6/8″

During his time at BYU, Jaren Hall was listed at 6-foot-1, 205 pounds. So BYU’s star signal-caller is slightly shorter than the 6’1″ listing, but he’s added some weight to his frame since his BYU playing days.
Senior Bowl Executive Director Jim Nagy said in his introductory press conference today that he felt there probably wouldn’t be a Senior Bowl quarterback that goes in this year’s first round. That would put Hall as a potential Day 2 or Day 3 signal-caller.
As long as a quarterback is 6 feet, any narrative about measurables won’t be used against an NFL draft-hopeful QB. That’s a win for Hall.
Blake Freeland, Offensive Tackle
Height: 6074 (6’7 4/8)
Weight: 312
Hand: 10″
Arm: 34″
Wing: 82 5/8″

These are the type of measurables that only help Blake Freeland’s draft profile. A wing span of 82 5/8″ will likely be in the upper crust of the Senior Bowl. Also, Freeland is seven pounds heavier than he was listed at BYU. During his four-year career with the Cougars, he was a 305-pound offensive tackle. Now he’s checking in at 312 pounds.
Pair up these measurables with the impressive four year’s worth of film he put together. The Senior Bowl is an excellent chance for Freeland to lift his profile in a deep offensive tackle class.

Hand: 9 3/8″
Arm: 31 7/8″

The size of wide receivers can vary in the NFL. It primarily depends on what a franchise wants out of their pass catches. But if they wish to have a big-bodied deep threat, Puka Nacua fits that billing. Nacua will wear No. 17 for the National team this week at the Senior Bowl.
